Due Monday, September 12:
Interview someone or people about their experience of 9/11. You must also include a 1-2 page response/reaction/recount/analysis of what you learned. Here is the assignment: History 10: Government Patriot Day Assignment 15th Anniversary of 9-11 It will be 15 years ago this Sunday that the United States was attacked by terrorists. For those Americans who were alive when it happened, it was an event that they will never forget. The United States decided that we would “Never Forget” what happened on that day. Why? Why should we Never Forget? Find someone to interview. Talk to them. What was that day like for them? What do they remember about 9-11 or the aftermath? If you want help with your interview, think of the 5 Ws and H (who, what, when, where, why, and how?). Ask those questions. From what you learned from your interview, write about the tragedy. Write it from their perspective, as if you were a newspaper reporter, as a historian, as a student who is learning about an event from the past. It is up to you, but you must recount their story or the events or your understanding of it in a 1-2 page typed response (2-3 pages handwritten). Your response does not need to be in a formal essay format.
